Yes, that seems to work OK. Whew.
I didn't test all possible things, but my greyscale-with-transparency pngs did not crash.

I recently moved up to 11.5.4
When I try to open or block-convert PNG files created in the previous version (11.5.2, I think) GC crashes. Other file formats, or older PNGs, behave normally.
