RAW preview

Are previews of RAW (specifically Nikon D70 NEF) supposed to be working in the current version of GC? I recently downloaded it after not using for several months, but i thought last time i used GC (can't remember which version) that RAW files previewed at a useful size (what i'm seeing now are like thumbnail size), if slowly. Or did i change some setting i shouldn't have? Thanks, Aysha
