One time non-repeatable wierdness

I was in GC Browser this afternoon sorting files as usual. After moving a group of files selected in the Browser to the destination folder I clicked on the "Resort" icon in the toolbar. (I do this dozens of times every day.) This time total lockup. The cursor was still on the "resort" icon but would not respond to the mouse. Even the keyboard was locked out. My only option was to manual shutdown (Press the Start Button on the front of the case and hold it untill the power shut off.) Then I restarted the same old way and everything was working OK. I know that this will be impossible to track down. I only mention it in case it happens to someone else who may be able ro report more (or different) symptoms.
