Hello,
I was editing some vintage illustrations to post them online for sale, then uploaded.
The moment upload finished, the image was totally different - it turned into darker, with dark colors.
After checking what could be the problem, I found out that the color model of the picture was ProPhoto RGB.
This is the first time I've ever encountered into something like that. I didn't even know what is ProPhoto RGB
I used "Core Image Filters > Color Adjustments > Linear to sRGB tone curve" , then "apply and close". (image became washed out)
When I checked the Color Model of the result, it is still ProPhoto RGB.
What is the right way to convert ProPhoto RGB to sRGB ?
ok...I did some reading on this subject and then checked RedBubble (where I upload my posters for sale) requirements for color profiles. They recommend to design in CMYK and before uploading the image, to convert it(or save it) to sRGB. So I did that - edited "ProPhoto RGB" image in CMYK, saved it and then sRGB option appeared. Is that ok to do ? too many steps ?
Thanks!
