1) Folder with these contents:
1-Overview.png 2-Detail.png 2-Detail.tsv 3a-Detail-Variant-Dots.png 3b-Detail-Variant-Dashes.png 3c-Detail-Variant-Filled.png
2) You open 1-Overview.png
3) You navigate to the next image with Edit > Navigation > Next Image in Folder (⌘ →)
4) The editor window now shows 2-Detail.png
5) Again ⌘ →
6) Dialog "Unknown File Format" which has the options [ Try RAW Import… ] [ OK ]
- Pressing OK does only closes the dialog but the window remains with your current file.
- You have no possibility to skip that unknown file.
- You would need to use a workaround: Navigate up ⌘ ↑ to the browser, there navigate past the obstacle, and then open the first compatible file again to continue in an editor window.
I propose to offer a solution to the problem right in the dialog like this:
[Wontdo] Dialogue "Unknown File Format" offers "Add extension to ignore list"
Re: Dialogue "Unknown File Format" offers "Add extension to ignore list"
Can I deselect - Unknows Formats: ?

Re: Dialogue "Unknown File Format" offers "Add extension to ignore list"
@Joerg: Thanks for pointing out to me that the "Raw Dump Dialog" itself is also an option which can be toggled on/off.
If toggled OFF the dialog is simpler and states:
The document “<name.suffix>” couldn't be opened. [ OK ]
@forum_adm: In light of that new circumstances I propose one more change:
In both dialogs change: [ OK ] to [ Skip ] which skips to the prev/next possible file in that folder.

@forum_adm This never got a response by you. Would appreciate a short answer whether you deem that assistive improvement worthy to implement or not.

The ignore extensions is an unused field. I removed it with build 6394.
A software should always display an alert if you drag and drop an unsupported file onto the app.

Question: What is your favorite spicy food? → Answer: Blue Jeans.
That's how I feel about your answer. I totally don't get it. It makes no sense to me.
Please try to read and answer again.

- Then I proposed new options in that dialog which would help to avoid that getting a problem again and again.
- Opening an unknown file and getting a info dialog is ok and annoys nobody.
- Using prev/next image through a folder with mainly media content, but some unsupported content inbetween (e.g. TSV), will annoy the user whenever such a file is next in line. For this I made a proposal how to avoid that user frustration.
I got no reaction to this by you. But instead you answer with something I do not understand at all:
What? I simply don't understand what you refer to here.
Please clarify or read again and answer again. Thanks!

- Yes. So far we agree.A software should always display an alert if you drag and drop an unsupported file onto the app.
